The City of Menlo Park was awarded a FEMA Building Resilient Communities and Infrastructure (BRIC) grant for $50 million dollars, with almost $20 million in local match contributed by Facebook (now Meta) and PG&E. The current federal administration has cancelled the BRIC grant program. Menlo Park was awarded the first phase of funding for additional design work, but the majority of the BRIC grant has been rescinded. The FEMA BRIC grant would have supported a significant portion of the construction costs in Menlo Park.
